Description
Laminated beeswax (or embossed beeswax) is 100% pure beeswax that has been purified, melted and pressed into thin sheets. These sheets are embossed on both sides with the characteristic hexagonal pattern of honeycomb cells.
- 100% natural origin: It is obtained directly from the honeycombs of bees (Apis mellifera), free from paraffins and synthetic additives.
- Flexibility: It is a malleable wax that can be easily cut, rolled and shaped at room temperature without breaking.
- Natural aroma: It retains a sweet, characteristic scent of honey and pollen, which is very pleasant.
- Variable colour: Its shade ranges from pale yellow to amber or brown, depending on the degree of filtration and the pollen in the area.
Beekeeping:
- Guide for bees: It is placed in the wooden frames of beehives. As it has a hexagonal pattern, the bees save time and energy by stretching the cells over a ready-made base.
- Increased production: It enables the bees to store honey and rear their young more quickly and in an organised manner.
- Standard size: 35 x 30 cm sheets.
Crafts and Decoration:
- Making rolled candles: This is the ideal material for making handmade candles without having to melt the wax. Simply place a cotton wick at the edge of the sheet and roll it up.
- Clean burning: Candles made with this wax last longer, hardly drip at all and purify the air as they burn, giving off a natural honey scent.
Cosmetics and Other Uses:
- Eco-friendly wraps (Beeswax Wraps): Pieces of cotton fabric are cut out and these sheets are melted onto them to create reusable wraps that replace cling film in the kitchen.
- Cosmetic base: Although wax beads are usually used for creams, the purified sheets can also be melted down to make lip balms, ointments and salves, thanks to their excellent moisturising and protective properties.
